The Epic Tale of One Way Ticket to Maui

adventure, business, Couches, events, good deeds, humor, Inspiration, photography, product review, travel 3 Comments »

Had to hit the beach within minutes of getting to Maui, with Craig Allen, and Terra Ganem“What are you doing for the next 2 months?”

“Seriously?  I hardly  know what I’m doing next week.”

“Over the last 2 weeks I’ve been thinking about that business idea you mentioned the other month… a lot… and you’re working Terra’s website anyways– why don’t I buy you a 1 way ticket, come stay with us, and if you want to get back, you have to finish the project, and get some sales!”

“Well, damn! For story-telling purposes alone, I have to say yes!”

And thus, I agreed to come visit Craig Allen and Terra Rose Ganem in Hawaii….  Read the rest of this entry »

Hell Run can go to Hell

adventure, business, product review, rant, Scam Warning No Comments »

hellrun.com-Leaping over FireI love serendipity – So many insane stories of it lately, that I can barely keep up.  Running in the HellRun.com Hell Run obstacle race was one of those things…..

One minute I’m being reminded that I said I’d run in an obstacle race, and have not taken any action on it (i.e. flaked out), and 2 hours later, I get a text out of the blue asking if I can run in an obstacle race to cover for my friend who already bought the ticket.

Yup.  I love serendipity.

What I don’t love however, is people not delivering on their promises. And Hell Run certainly did not do that!

You see, on their website, they have photos of people covered in mud… yet nobody got anything more than their ankles muddy… and even that was weak.

I’ll tell you the things they did, but when I get to the last one, you’ll see why I bothered to  write this post! Read the rest of this entry »

A day that you will never forget – The Beatles on Itunes

Apple's itunes announcement on its homepage

Apple thinks you are a tool

Apple is the king of marketing and creating hype.  Their technology has changed the world.  Their style has made technology simple, and pretty.  And now, they think that we are all fools. Me personally, I am waiting for the youtube itunes video of the person who came up with this latest scheme getting executed by firing squad.

Yesterday had all the tech sites wondering what Apple will announce today, as their home page announced with poor grammar that “Tomorrow is just another day.  That you’ll never forget.”  I gotta admit, with all that they’ve done, I too was curious what their announcement will  be.  What will they have people lining up around the block for this time?

Apparently, all the hype was to announce that the Beatles are now on iTunes.  Seriously?  That’s it?  That is worth shutting down the Apple home page for?

For those who were not aware of it Read the rest of this entry »

Short a runner or two. Join us in Seattle!

adventure, party, travel 3 Comments »

The Ragnar – a 185 Mile Relay Race in Seattle-  12 people and a dog named Webber, riding in 2 smelly vans, and taking turns running 3 legs of the race in 24 hours!  How could that not sound fun?

http://www.ragnarrelay.com/race/northwestpassage

We’re missing a runner or two….  We have 10 confirmed, plus the dog (not every team has the dog, we’re just cool).

So… help get the word out!  Our team needs one or two more people!  We CAN run as is, we’ll just run more miles per person.

Do you live in Seattle (Actually, the race says Baline to Langley) ? Near Seattle? Like to run?  Know someone that’s in or near that area and likes to run?   Join us! Contact me, and I’ll let the team know!

I will bring my camera, and you’ll get professional photos of you running, and have a blast with a bunch of goofballs!  Bad jokes and good photos are guaranteed!

Post Cleanse – Pre P90x

Couchsurfing Ori after finishing a cleanse, and before starting P90x

Thinnest I've ever been

Short post- just a video really.  Everyone’s been giving me grief about “What do you look like now that you finished your cleanse?”  and “You’re supposed to take before pics when you start P90x!” — I don’t even have a scale, and I don’t really care right now.  I’m just committed to doing the exercises, and eating healthy… and running on occasion too, ’cause I have that 185 mile relay race later in July.  So… here’s the video (since I don’t have anyone around to take my pic for me):

Again, as I say in the video… there’s many more reasons to do a cleanse than just to lose weight.  Look into it.  If I can help, feel free to ask any questions you have.

I’m excited that I’m beginning P90x from the thinnest I’ve been… should be interesting to see the restults I achieve by September 17- when I’ve completed the program. Wish me luck!

I signed up for a 185 mile relay race in Seattle that will take place in July.  I can bring Webber with me.  That dog likes to run, and I had asked JMo before I even came here if I can bring the dog on road trips, “Sure… if he’s safe, I’m cool!”  So why did I say yes to the race? It all started with Radio Shack! Read the rest of this entry »

A sad post

Get to know Ori, misc, rant 2 Comments »

Kind of felt this sad todayI generally try to keep things upbeat.  Even when I’m angry at someone.  But it’s rare that I am sad, and today I have been.  Right now, I’m more along the lines of indifferent, but there were tears coming out and that kind of stuff.  I keep things honest for you, so… here’s my underbelly. How to beat stress, and a MUTANT EAR (Video blog)

Trying a video blogging format. What do you think (other than “OMG! WTF happened to your ear?”

Basically, my ear has been giagantic for 16 hours or so now… maybe I got angry, and am slowly changing into a mix of elephant man and the hulk? Thought I’d exercise, so… watch the video.

Running with Tellman Knudson (of RunTellmanRun)

Tellman Knudson running Barefoot across the country

Tellman is the first person ever to run coast to coast barefoot.

I’m thrilled to bring you guys this interview with Tellman Knudson, while running, as he runs across the country barefoot to raise $100,000,000 to help fight youth homelessness.

Tellman Knudson is a really awesome person.  He’s driven, but chill.  He knows who he is, and lives according to that.  People like that are far and few.  He is a very successful marketer, and decidedto do a first.  In this video, he tells the challenges of finding a “first”,  about why he’s doing what he’s doing, and the challenges of it.

He’s gotten to meet my hero, Richard Branson… whose charity (Virging Unite) he’s raising the money for.

I can hardly fathom $100,000,000.00 — I don’t care what your cause is, that’s a lot of money, that can really make a difference! Hanging out with Tellman while at Matt Bacak’s & Mark Joyner’s Survival Tactics for Tough Times was very enlightening and humbling.  What do you think of what Tellman’s doing?

Thanks to Harris Fellman, who’s another successful fellow who’s fun, money was raised just from this jog.

Getting in shape! Mental and physical fitness go hand in hand!

I did mention that my new adventure is keeping me in one place for a little bit… One benefit of not being on the road as much is that I can exercise on a regular basis, and watch what I eat!  True story– I WEIGHED THE MOST THAT I’VE EVER WEIGHED… Just last month! Read the rest of this entry »
