Daytime shot of the new coffee table

I guess I'm also an interior designer

When a good friend came home from a great time in Vegas, to the negative energy of a breakup, he got in a funk.  I came up with an idea!  Let’s rearrange the place, and change the energy!

I wasn’t asking, and my energy caught on quickly. Within minutes we had a plan:

The master bedroom would be the new office.

The old office would now be my room.

The room that was mine will now get the kingsize bed from the master bedroom.

We quickly disassembled the large furniture, moving it, and quickly the plan took shape.  The entire energy of the house was changing!

When the girl came home in the morning to get more of her stuff, she was floored.  She had forgotten a few items in the drawers of the dresser, and other such places. We had gone through everything, and made sure everything that wasn’t packed… was.

We moved furniture that wasn’t going to be used (dressers and such) into the Garage.  The place no longer felt the same. My buddy felt much better, the energy had in fact shifted.

She got pretty pissed off “Would you stop using that word!” when he said “Awesome!” yet again, after moving another piece of furniture around into a configuration that worked better than it was prior to that move.

We still didn’t know what to do with the living room.  In standard Ori style, I suggested we try something “a little different”, and he was game.

I suggested we open up the futon, and use it as a coffee table, since we weren’t crazy about the existing coffee table.

We tried it, threw on some magazines, and decided it was too crowded.

The dresser needed to be moved into the garage, as did the old coffee table, and the old end-stands.

You may look at this and think that it looks like a big bed right now.  It kind of does.  Remember, this was a test.  Since it passed the test, Craig is getting a Futon Cover.

We looked at covers together, and we both liked each other’s choices… we tried everything from various Hawaiian prints to green-squares and circles, to pop-art, to clouds, and many more… you can find just about any design as a futon cover, apparently.

When we got to leather-looking, this design caught my eye:

Rowdy Tequila

Say Hello to Rowdy Tequila

This is Rowdy Tequila!  If we didn’t think the design was awesome as is, the namem definitely got our attention. Rowdy Tequila… just has a fun ring to it, and fun is what it’s all about.

So, posted are the pics of the Futon-Coffee-Table with the dining chairs. While we haven’t discussed what chairs would work, I’m thinking something along these lines:

A slipper chair

The fun thing is that you can lay down on the coffee table and read, or sit in a comfy chair.  The armrests are drink holders (trays really), and a tray can be layed down on the table if drinks need to be closer.

More pics to come when Rowdy Tequilla arrives!

Ori, you got talent – the eye for change is key. Love the futon as a coffee table and the rowdy leather look top. should mix up the chairs – louis ghost the upholstered ones you have chosen or one of those lip couches. with a different upholstered chair – textured fabric. just my 2.5 cents
    its magic moving stuff around.

Change is key to everything ( especially tolls). As far as chairs go– your'e definitely right. We're ging to see hwo awesome it looks with the rowdy tequila cover, then see what chairs will match. The wall is not safe from change either…. One of my paintings is getting framed, a photo I took of Craig & Bentley is getting printed & framed, we're moving all those shells around, and the paint may get attacked as well. The great thing is just coming to the house, and not seeing the breakup energy hanging in the air.

I think you gave me an idea though! Post the pics of how things are, and let readers vote on what changes to make :)

Ori saves the day yet again…! This man helped me earlier on in my relationship with my baby mama. Of all the change Ori tells about, I think he is best at changing lives.
