I’m pretty excited to say that I registered to vote for the 1st time. When I was in Florida, I didn’t bother to, as everyone knows that Florida votes are rigged, and there will be recounts. However, since I now live in Georgia, I did want to vote. Or… perhaps it was because there’s so much at stake this election.
I was couchsurfing down in Florida for a little bit over a month, and I knew the deadline was approaching for registration. In fact, it would be a day after I returned. So, I came across a website that claimed I can register to vote from there. I filled it out, and then got all nervous about “Oh crap! Where did I just put part of my social? This could be one of those republican sites that try to screw up people’s voter registration!” I had to mail (not e-mail) it.
Needless to say, I was pretty excited when my voter registration came in the mail. So this year, I’m finally practicing my right as an American (only took me 14 years to get citizenship) to vote. I suggest you do the same.
