More craziness in the country… (slideshows)

Well… I’ve not had any excitement-free days. You already read about Friday…. The next day was also filled with explosive photography. Actually.. wait.. that was the day after the next. The next day was actually getting lost in the cow pastures and hunting for various mushrooms, getting lost during a lightning storm, in the dark. Walking for 9 hours. We were so tired. Then we tried to identify what we found. Played in cow poop, looked under rotting trees, found this stuff called “Chicken of the woods” mushroom. Apparently, it’s very edible, and tastes like chicken. It started with climbing down the side of a bridge, walking on the railroad tracks- including a bridge (nothing underneath you but a river)… that was a little trippy… crossing streams by hopping on rocks…. crossing streams by walking through the water… climbing…. trying to figure out where we’re going… trying to figure out what we found…. tried to catch this snake… and of course, Macro shots of Ants dragging a may-fly.

Apprently, it’s really frigging hard to identify what you have. Poisonous, Psychedelic, or Gourment…. apparently, a lot look the same… The only one we could identify for sure was the one that we didn’t bring back— the Chicken of the woods mushroom. Oh well… it sure photographed well.

So… the next day, we took apart fireworks, played with gun powder, and of course, took a bunch of photos. Gun powder + fireworks + wicks + camouflage + bio suit + my favorite “I shoot people” shirt + lots of guns…..

Had a normal night the next day… tried to figure out which mushrooms we had, and apparently they are really hard to identify. As I said, the only one we clearly identified was the one we didn’t get – the chicken of the woods. I did some work… then we tried to pull an all nighter, and have a Bourne marathon….. we watched Bourne Identity, then I fell asleep during Bourne Supremacy, then I woke up… got work done, research… learning some more on Joomla. Then we watched Bourne Supremacy… Adventure for the day: Shot Clay Pigeons with a 20 Gauge shotgun. I’ve never fired a shotgun before, so it was fun. Especially since I hit them all– once I tried aiming with one eye. Then we went and saw The Bourne Ultimatum, had some dinner, got back to Couch 49, told many offensive jokes, and then I packed up my gear, and got back to Couch 48′s at 1am or so. I got some crappy sleep, because it was ice cold, and I had no blanket or pillow. At 4am I got up, went to Eric’s room, stole a pillow and small blanket, and then turned off the AC. Granted I was pretty tired when I woke up.
