Yeah… it’s Day 55 as I write this… but I just got to editing and JPG’ing the photos tonight… ’cause Derek wrote and asked for them.
So… day 21… a Sunday like any other Sunday… except that I’m in Utah, and it’s freezing cold (really… we went snowboarding the next day). The day
started out semi-hectic…. It was moving day– a day where I move from having Internet… to not! Though, Myndy moves from having a place, to having a cooler place. Her family came over and helped her move. Derek was there, I was there, and her neighbor Jen was there. We all pitched in to the effort, and then went out to lunch.
I worked (on this very site you’re looking at now), until it was night time, and I needed to go meet Derek for work. D grooms the mountain… that means he drives this badass tractor / tiller thingy all night to make the snow smooth for those that dare play with gravity on it (ski / snowboard). Derek does this so that he can snowboard all he wants for free….
We rode around in this contraption from midnight till 9am. It was pretty damn cold out, and I kept hopping out of the cab to take photographs of it in action, of the snowmakers, or to pee in the snow
The inside of the cab was nice and toasty, and there was a CD player which was blasting tunes. I took photos, and occasionally zonked out. Is grooming the mountain exciting? Well.. yeah– it’s unique! I’ve never done that, and I can’t think of many people that have. I got to hang out with a friend for a few hours… and I got to see what the mountain looks like at night. Come to think of it, I’ve never gone UP the slope before either!
