*sigh* When I used to spin out, crash into something, get hurt, fall, or anything that scares most people… I used to say “Adventure!” and smile about it. Smashing into stuff is getting old. I might do it all day long, if it weren’t for the costs involved! I wrote about how I traveled through a blizzard, and didn’t get injured, despite spinning off the road into a ditch. I thought I won, but in actuality, nature won again….

This time, there was no snow blizzard, no crazy fog, no cliffs to fall off of… My drive to California was a bit spooky, as I had one headlight out from previous ditch, and the winding roads were making me uneasy, and due to my headlight being out, I was swerving a bit. I had sort of vowed to fix the headlight, and procrastination bites me on the ass again! I was going to Taco Bell for some dinner, and I was trying to decide between there, or this Chinese place that was on the right of me. I was practically stopped in this parking lot, but apparently, still going forward at a slow speed… until *POW* I had a concrete pole in my hood! I scooped up the remains of my car, tucking in the headlight assemblies that were dangling off, and seeing if the engine still worked.

Everything was ok, but there are strange noises, and I fear what can happen if I leave this unresolved. My car insurance has already gone up a bit, as I got a speeding ticket, and had a car insurance in January – compliments of a freak ice storm in Texas. I can’t use my car insurance, or they’ll either boot me out, or raise my rates even higher. I’m trying to barter out parts and labor. Photography / Photoshop / Web Design — all can be yours (tell me what you have in mind first), if you can fix my car. I have an estimate on Monday, in San Francisco… maybe they need photos for their catalog or website, or maybe they need a brochure design. Perhaps the mechanic’s daughter is getting married, and needs some nice invitations designed, and a wedding portrait. I guess we’ll see.

Meanwhile, you can make a donation towards a new bumper / grille, or whatever parts that are needed. If enough people help out, I can be on the road, and couch surfing again in no time! Hopefully, you can find it in your heart and wallet to help out, so that I can continue to live vicariously for everyone.
