I got impressed by the work of internationally renowned artist, Tsubasa, so I interviewed him. (Y’all bitch I don’t have enough pics on my blog- so here’s a pic of “Bill” (though Tsubasa sounds more exotic) that I took at the end of the interview). You should know, he not only is extremely talented (gallery of his found further in this entry), is extremely cool, but he is also the 1st person to contribute to the CouchSurfingOri.com Gas Fund! Y’all should learn from such an enlightened man!

I was supposed to go to shoot the night time version of that pool, but thankfully, it was getting late, so they called and asked if I wanted to head over now, or reschedule. By the time they called, I was having so much fun hanging out with Bill, that I definitely chose to reschedule. But.. the night didn’t start out so sweet.
I felt like a retard actually, when his place is 10-15 minutes away, and it took me longer than an hour to get there… longer, if he hadn’t stepped out and met me. My GPS was convinced that Bill lives in this one neighborhood, which he in fact does NOT live in. I drove around and around, and kept calling to compare landmarks, which were not familiar. The annoying thing is that I was only 5 minutes away from him when I 1st called, thinking I’ve arrived. I tried to back track, and got further and further away. On the bright side, I did get to see some awesome industrial stuff, which I always enjoy. Bridges, train tracks (from above), a quarry. When I was “close enough” Bill came out to meet me at this gas station, and led the way to his place.
Tsubasa is a cool cat. With a Tsubasa license plate, I knew I had the right person. His decor was all sorts of neat. He collects all sorts of things, including Macs. The man has more macs than I’ve ever seen. The hand held ones, the big ones, the new ones, the 1st ones, and so on. He also used to play in a band. He’s been playing in bands since he was 17 or 18. I’m still working on my 1st complete song, and I’m 30. We chatted for a while before I pulled out the camcorder. I am sure I missed out on some of the cool stuff, but Bill is used to being on the other side of the camera, and seems to give longer answers when the camera is not on him. He’s traveled the world as an artist. He’s traveled the world, period. He’s very creative. He has a job as a creative director. He studied architecture, but got into other things. Let’s see if I can Iframe his gallery here-
Anyways… he thought of some other artists that might be good for me to talk to. I was pretty inspired after seeing his DVD / Book – which he gave me copies of, and came home, and started to work on my new artistic image that’s part 3d, part photography… Keep an eye out! I worked on it all day the next day, and most of the day the day after.
