I think I’ve been all right. I’m exercising often, eating fairly well, and have had an internet connection that’s steady. I haven’t been able to order internet from Comcast, Adelphia, AT&T… and AT&T had purchased Bellsouth as well as many other DSL providers that used to service the area. Frigging monopoly! Anyways… Bellsouth is what my neighbors all have, and the only thing that comes out to our area. I ordered service from Cavalier, which called me back a day or 2 later, saying that I can’t have DSL… but they sent me a bill for a regular phone line I didn’t even want. Today there was no internet. I should’ve taken that as a sign, right?
For me, the rough week started when we couldn’t find the gym card, and I’ve had to go running outdoors (it’s been cold! Also, I love the abs bench at the gym). For Angela it started around the same time, but for different reasons. Tuesday we went to the finals in the Karaoke contest. It’s 40 minutes away in this Wild West place. They have a bunch of really talented individuals there. Angela, being a singer, went to compete. We actually went when Couch 56 came to Couch Surf with us, and Angela won that night. It was $50 that night, with the finals being this Tuesday, with a prize of $600. 1st we find out the prize is actually split into 3 contestants, 1st: $250, 2nd: $100, 3rd: $50 - and each gets a gift certificate to the bar/restaurant. Either way, Angela lost, and took it very personally that she didn’t even place. She cried on the way home, and I made sure to not work through the night, but rather spend some time with her. The good news is that I got some video, which I’ll post soon, of her singing. Last night we tried to figure out what to do about furniture. We still don’t have much of it. An inflatable queen-sized bed graces our bedroom, our large tv sits on a giant plastic bin, and we have a lovely dining room set that we’re watching for some friends…. until they move into their larger place and have the room for it. It was an argument about whether to get more living-room furniture, or bedroom furniture. I just don’t see the logic in $1,000 for a sectional. I figured we’d split our budget. “Let’s get a nice couch” “No honey, let’s get beanbags! Everybody loves bean bags!” Bean bags are definitely more affordable, but after much arguing, we decided I’d go with her today to look at furniture. Ikea, here we come! 1st we tried to go to the post-office to send out some things, and see where the hell some packages are that we’ve had shipped to us, and have not arrived! Both of us are missing mail! The post office couldn’t help… what to do? It took a long time of waiting in line to figure this out. So… again, IKEA, here we come. We get on Johnson Ferry Road, and head downhill. This one light turns yellow, then red. This fairly new Ford Mustang decides not to run the yellow, and stops. Angela’s car is a Ford Explorer and heavy. It picked up too much momentum on the hill, and despite slamming the breaks, we smashed into the guy! We still went to IKEA, and I’m now writing from a Caribou coffee. We’re being kicked out though- so I’ll continue another time.

Awww…my poor girl. Give her lots and lots of hugs for me, and maybe some ice cream too. She’s lucky to have you to help her through her hard times…and vice versa. Welcome to life.
It’s good…it’s bad…it’s beautiful and it’s ugly, but it always gets better! Best of luck dear friends!!! (((HUGS))) -Jaime
