So, I mentioned that I’m actually stationary for a tiny bit. One of the people I saw lecture while on the road was Joel Comm. This guy practically invented the internet (he DID invent what is now “Yahoo Games”), and is a god-like figure for people who believe in Google AdSense. What is it, and why you should click on the new ads that appear all over my site? Google AdSense is a code that you place in your website, and Google will fill those areas with little ads (You actually get to choose the size, and colors… although sizes are a little limited) that people pay for. Then Google analyzes your page, so the ads usually match what the post is talking about. On my last post for example, about being in the best shape I’ve been in for a while… you can now find all sorts of ads about fitness. Many of them are for legitimate businesses that have products that are relevant to what you are reading about. Pretty neat, huh? So… now you, the reader, get ads that are matched up to what you’re reading about… so what? Well… if you click on any of them, I get a few pennies!
A few pennies doesn’t sound like much, but when you have thousands upon thousands of people coming to your site and clicking on the ads, you can make some decent money. I’ve met many people that drop their initial business, just to do adword stuff. Joel Comm’s mother has has a website for her travels. It’s really popular, and she makes a ton of money just with Google… enough to pay for her travels, which are a write-off, since it’s her business. Good deal, right?
So, click on some ads, and help me pay some bills. Then, consider adding some adsense to your site. Comment if you’d like more information.

Cool, so what is to stop you from clicking on your own page all day? (I clicked a couple for ya.
)
Corpal Tunnel Syndrome :p You’re welcome to click on everything you want. Actually though- You’re not supposed to ask people to click on ads. People are supposed to click because they are genuinely interested.
Google says:
Clicks on Google ads must result from genuine user interest. Any method that artificially generates clicks or impressions on your Google ads is strictly prohibited. These prohibited methods include but are not limited to repeated manual clicks or impressions, using robots, automated click and impression generating tools, third-party services that generate clicks or impressions such as paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, autosurf, and click-exchange programs, or any deceptive software. Please note that clicking on your own ads for any reason is prohibited. Failure to comply with this policy may lead to your account being disabled.
Encouraging clicks
In order to ensure a good experience for users and advertisers, publishers may not request that users click the ads on their sites or rely on deceptive implementation methods to obtain clicks. Publishers participating in the AdSense program:
* May not encourage users to click the Google ads by using phrases such as “click the ads,” “support us,” “visit these links,” or other similar language
* May not direct user attention to the ads via arrows or other graphical gimmicks
* May not place misleading images alongside individual ads
* May not promote sites displaying ads through unsolicited mass emails or unwanted advertisements on third-party websites
* May not compensate users for viewing ads or performing searches, or promise compensation to a third party for such behavior
* May not place misleading labels above Google ad units - for instance, ads may be labeled “Sponsored Links” but not “Favorite Sites”
