No clothes party!

I left South Florida on Saturday morning’ish. I made it to Tampa by Saturday evening, in time to make it to Couch #6’s NO CLOTHES party…. This was after an ex girlfriend of mine flaked out last minute. She was all excited about showing me her new place, in the ritzy part of town, Harbor Island. She had an incident a long time ago where (Despite the numerous times I told her while we were dating, she still didn’t believe me that she was a crappy drunk) she bit a cop, and life changed. My suggestion was that she move back to Tampa, and fix things. She took my advice, and is now maing close to 6 figures, if not that. So… last week, we were chatting, and she wanted me to come see her new place (2 bedroom), and she got all excited about the “No clothes party” — Really? Count me in! I’m serious! I want to go! — yeah… that became “Well, I am kind of tired… and I have to go to the store… and ” — I heard too many “and’s” and heard a backing up in the voice. I don’t have time to wait on people, so I changed course and went straight to Jessica’s. Since I no longer was going to Victoria’s, I would not have access to her duct tape, saran wrap, or garbage bags… but I knew I’d be able to put something together. I made it to Jessica’s, and asked what they had handy. I stripped down to my boxers, went into a garbage bag through the open side, and kicked out some holes for my legs to go through. I had done the same with another garbage bag for my top-side. This time, also punching out a hole for my head. I strategically punched my holes a little lower than the corners of the bag, to create shoulder-pad-like protrusions with the bag. It was pretty nifty, fun, and hot! Most people were dying of heat…. nylon, rubber, bubble-wrap… all materials that do not release heat too well. It was fun!

There were drinks, candy, and chocolates. We played Nintendo Wii, listened to music, and of course… told jokes. Good times, and I got to see a couple of old friends, as well as put Jessica (Couch 6) back in touch with John, who is a friend of mine whom I only recently got to know well. It’s amusing, as we’ve both got an ex girlfriend in common, as well as many friends in the same circle. We both also share a love for photography, and some of my recent projects were inspired a tiny bit by John’s love of photography. Congrats to him- he just moved to a nice new place that makes a great studio, and just ordered a bunch of new studio lights. I am sure he’ll do very well with them.

There was this model and photographer that got talking about Model Mayhem… they were dominating the conversation, and everyone else was just sitting around bored’ish… I avoided the conversation, as this guy was trying to find drama… he was asking the model what trouble she’s had with which photographers.  He was talking shit about people…  I was not impressed, so I went to get my laptop, to go over my photos from a recent shoot.  Apparently, people liked the photos, as the conversation shifted to be about my pictures.  The other photographer was now asking all sorts of questions about how long I’ve been shooting, etc…  I was not really trying to dominate the conversation… especially not about photography.  I was more enjoying telling jokes, as not everyone was a model / photographer.  I don’t name drop that often — although, I did couchsurf with one of my idols, Jeffery Scott– and this guy definitely did.  He has not submitted his photos to Jessica yet (11/20 at the latest edit), which is a shame, as we had all posed for him… since he had studio lights.  I was not impressed with his photos (since I was online and he requested I check his portfolio), especially for the level of shit he was talking.
