Iowa is a pain in the neck! Training hard.

I had stayed up late making my new image. So, by the time I woke up, the guys had already gone running their 5 miles. I decided I’d go run my 7.6 miles. When you have your mind set on something, you may sometimes forget to check that the temperature is a little over 100 degrees, and the sun is nice and bright at 2:30pm. I ran, then I walked a little bit ’cause my legs were totally shot from the heat, and from running a lot the day before, and the day before that. My arms were sore from pushups and boxing. I made it in 1 hour 11 minutes. I went to the pool, dove underwater for a while to cool off, and then got home and took a nice cold shower. I was overheating a bit. The rest of the day was standard for a while… going to the Kum & Go (yes, that’s what the local gas stations are called… I was pretty amused the 1st time also), getting some chi-Tea, eating some spicy food, watching some girls by the pool, telling stupid jokes, MySpace, Model Mayhem, One Model Place, and e-mail. After a few phone calls, I decided I was pretty tired, and should nap for a tiny bit. A bunch of fighters came over, and I did not want to get left behind again. I got up, and Charlie made us a drink of this one supliment that’s supposed to be better than Brett’s NOS beverage which is supposed to help out with endurance, energy, motivation, etc… This drink made me not feel that great… Brett got liquid crap, Charles’ stomach hurt, and all of us had gas from it… I think I prefer Brett’s supliment drink. I was working on my boxing this morning, Brett’s been showing me some jabs and some 1-2 combos. This evening was hardcore Jiu-Jitsu training…. although, it was a “back-to-basics” training. Charles is an amazing trainer…. he worked us hard. I got to practice shrimping, reverse-shrimping, arm bars, leg locks, and lots of other exercises. We grappled some, and I did all right’ish… except that I don’t really know too many good take-downs, and I was pretty friggin exhausted by this point of time. We were all drenched, and by that point, and kept having to switch partners. When I got to train with Brett, I got my ass whooped… not only do I not know any takedowns, but I also was slippery as hell, Brett’s a big guy, I was exhausted, and Brett’s quite experienced… I got thrown a couple of good times…. had my neck sort of bent - still hurting from that - and landed on my kidneys a few times… had the wind knocked out of me. I definitely have a long way to go. I also need to get my endurance / stamina up for training, and I need to work on these “Sprawl” things… When we got home, I was informed that you have about 30 minutes after training to rinse off before bacteria starts seeping in, and Staff infections can occur. I figured with the neck pain, going to the jacuzzi would be great. I went downstairs, and the pool area was locked up and chained. No problem… jump the fence… doh! problem! I’m too exhausted to do that. I couldn’t do a pull up by this point. I found a fuse box or something, climbed it, and did a reverse flip over the fence. Sat in the jacuzzi, made some calls, and then made a pathetic attempt at a graceful flip out of the pool area. It worked, except for the graceful part. Oh well. Couch 50 came over with that new movie from the makers of Shaun Of The Dead, “Hot Fuzz.” I’ve been wanting to see it, and it is quite rediculous, an dyet it comes together so well. I’d give it 3.5 out of 6 couches. Now that I think about it, I’ve been watching a lot of TV & movies here at Couch 48’s. History channel — especially that show Human Weapon, lots of fight videos, Borat, Black Sheep, Ong Bak, The Roast of Flavor Flay, The Pacifier, 300, and many more. Oh well.. still being productive- see next post for my cool new Cyborg image.
