Wondering why I haven’t posted in a few days? Two main reasons. 1)My power supply for my laptop has been emitting sparks, smoke, and “What smells like plastic melting?” smells — fixed last night by Couch 43, and my new power supply should arrive today or tomorrow. 2)I met a really nice girl, who’s been a lot more fun to spend time with than my blog is. Until I get a tiny bit more time to blog everything I’ve been doing here in Chicago, here’s a detailed summary:
1)Lots of jogging, biking, and even some nighttime Kayaking (with Camera! Oh… the amazing photos)
2)Went to some lame ass “party” for this clothes store… got kicked out… got dropped off with Angela (see #2 above), whom I met because she called to rent my place in Atlanta, and it turned out she lives in Chicago, where I was heading next. We’ve been spending a lot of time together this last week.
3)Went to the most amazing concert - it was free, gotta love Chicago! - by these African Bands, TOUMANI DIABATE & THE SYMMETRIC ORCHESTRA and Vieux Farka Touré. I was blown away! I got some pics with Toumani & friends after the concert, as they liked my photos so much Yay! Even got some phone #’s in Africa… CouchSurfingAfrica, here I come.
4)Spent some time with old friends
5)Shot a few models, with the intention of creating amazing fantasy images out of them.
6)Angela & Amy took me around the city. We went to Navy Pier, and rode this big speed-boat, The Sea Dog, where I didn’t have my camera… so… no pics from that. Then we went to Ed Debevics, a Chicago tradition.. a restaurant where the waiters sing and dance, and taunt you.
7)Since Dan broke my camera, I got my Canon 30D, which has been a fun camera to play with while my 1D Mark II gets sent in to Canon.
8)Went to some Blues clubs, ’cause Angela sings, and her dad’s a drummer.
9)Got to crash @ Couch 42’s neighbor’s place, as Couch 42’s neighbor was passed out and naked on my bed @ Couch 42’s…
