Couch 36’s 2 year old learned the word “Adventure” when her parents explained where Ori goes when he’s not staying on their couch. Couch 41’s kid said he wants to be like Ori when he grows up, and Monday, I went with Couch 42 (David) to take underprivileged children to the zoo!
It was amusing… I had fun, took some pics, and got to interact with the children. I showed some of them (over ice cream) how to make an ORIgami baloon. We got caught in the rain, and hid in this structure. We rode the public buses. I narc’ed on one of the kids for littering, and he didn’t get in trouble for littering, but he did get a talk about lying about it. These are a bunch of David’s Karate students. We got to see some crazy lightning from the beach! Kind of wish I had my camera for that (See previous post about Chicago - party 1 - that guy I mention who’s a color-blind photographer… He has some amazing shots of lighting striking the sears tower! Highly worth looking!). When these kids had gotten to the beach, they realized that one of them had forgotten his backpack at the zoo. I sprinted back to the zoo and got it. It was good exercise, which I wanted, and there was only one of me, and like 10 of them… so… was faster this way. Anyways- this one kid, Edwin, really took to me. He was asking tons of questions about what I do, and was telling me about cool shows on TV. I taught him how to tie his shoelaces. So… today (Tuesday) David went to teach Karate, and Edwin had shown up. He had dropped out of Karate (said it was too much work… I gave him a great speech about how great it is to try harder when something is hard, because the rewards are greater), so David was surprised to see him there today. “Are you here to do Karate?” “No.. I thought Ori was going to be here!” All this interacting with kids is making me realize what I suspected… that I’d be a good father. I think I’d like a set of my own. I know my folks have been waiting for that forever :p

A set of your own, now that would be interesting! The truth is in you!
BTW i am not sure if I have your current email so here is the link to the portfolio site we talked about.
