Wow! Time flies. It’s 5:30am now, and the sun’s already up here in Chicago (Central time). We decided that after a long day of working on the computer - then taking a 2 hour nap - we’d go to this Bruchetta place. You order 4 types of Bruchetta, and they bring it to you (well.. duh… but they had cool toppings… like peaches & wallnuts & Goat Cheese…. or Basil, Prochutto, Red Peppers, etc… After David and I told a million jokes there, we all went back to the house. Krysta prances around the house naked by the way… or in a corset. They’re definitely not a shy couple! David just takes off during the day to bike ride, or teach karate, or run, or swim… actually, he doesn’t like running. I do though. I haven’t ridden a bike in ages. After the Bruchetta place, I helped David fix one of the bikes. It was also midnight… so… now that it was fixed, we went riding… for like 5 hours! The time flew! We rode through downtown Chicago. I couldn’t believe it! There were not any cars on the street. Mostly cabs! We were able to ride everywhere. We went to this Millennium park, and apparently, this was not one of those “anywheres” we could ride through. We got kicked out by security. There’s this giant “Jelly Bean” there… it’s made of Chrome! It’s pretty neat, reflects everything. There was also a concert hall there… outdoors. It was purple-lit, and quite beautiful. Security said the park is closed, so we rode around some more… rode next to the Sears tower, and many other amazing pieces of architecture. Then we rode to the lake…Lake Michigan I believe. We rode around the lake on this giant path, getting different views of the city skyline. It was superb! We rode on piers, sat on one and watched downtown, when a group of kids (late teens / early 20’s?) clanked beer bottles, made jubilant sounds, got naked, and jumped off the pier into the cold lake. After that got boring to watch, we kept riding some more. David had to pee, so we went down this ramp, parked the bikes, and went into the lake ourselves. David went naked, and I went in my underoos (actually, they’re black boxer-briefs from Old-navy), and we swam some. The water was definitely cold There was some guy riding around on a giant tractor smoothing out the beach. We got dressed, and kept riding. We got to this hot-dog stand, “The Wiener’s Circle” at like 4:30am. We had no clue what time it was… just that the sky was getting a little lighter. The ride back from the hot-dog stand was amazing… the sky was lighting up, and you could now see all the details of the city. We rode through a market that was being set up on the street. We rode through Millennium park again, and security was nowhere to be seen! The giant chrome jelly bean was amazing to watch in the day-time. It was like a a disturbance in the space-time continuum. You could see yourself, and the whole city behind you, curved… I’ll definitely get photos. My camera is still broken since I lent it to Dan, so I think I will buy a 30D while my 1D Mark II is in the shop. I am going to go night riding again tomorrow, with a camera… I have to get pictures of what I have seen! It was good fun! We rode over 20 miles. Now I’ve written this, and am going to sleep - 6:15am
