If you’re going to get a camera, don’t go to Wolf/Ritz- you’re throwing money away.

So… since Dan broke my 1D Mark II (Fancy camera), I need another camera to use in the meantime, so I’ve decided that rather than drive to NJ to fix my camera, I’ll send it in. While it’s sent it, I’ll go and buy a 30D- a lot of people have those, and they are decent. Not only that, but their price has come down quite a bit. You can get a 30D from B&H (New York) or Calumet Photo (Chicago & Orange County) or of course on line… They only charge $1025 (this is the camera, without any lenses…), and Ritz/Wolf (which apparently are the same store now) charge $1300 for the same thing. I called Ritz / Wolf stores today to see if they could match the price. They said that since they’re in chicago, and Calumet is in Chicago, they should be able to match their price. Calumet is closed on Sunday, so they can’t call them, so they won’t match the price today. I said that if Calumet is open, I’d rather just drive to Calumet and get the price directly, rather than drive somewhere else and wait for someone to make a call to see if the price is right, to match it. So… if you feel like paying 22% more, then go to Ritz/Wolf camera and get ripped off… at least they are conveniently located in most cities/malls, right? But if you’re looking to save money, or get a camera AND a lens for the same price as just a camera… well, in that case, you might want to consider BH/Calumet.

I got sick of losing sleep due to GoDaddy's glitches, and crappy billing... I moved to BlueHost, and am happy! Awesome service, unlimited account hosting, and I'd love to see you use up all the bandwidth they give you for $6.50/month!
