What an awesome going away! Thanks Skiz! at The Adventures of a Couch Surfer

As always, Skizzy rocks! I had an awesome going away party! I hadn’t checked my MySpace that much as of late, so I missed the invite he sent out (Saved till the end of this post, since it’s kind of long). Thankfully, I was in constant contact with Skizzy, and had promised to be there that night… heck, that’s why I delayed departing Atlanta… ’cause I had missed Andretti’s the previous few weeks. Once, because Mysterious Stranger chick had shown up, once because I had a 3d project that required all my attention. Anyways… I had been running lately…. A LOT! In fact, I am not sure why, but the last few days, I had gotten plenty of sleep, and had bought groceries — fruit juice, fruit, and even ice cream! The Ice Cream was so good! It was this Caramel flavor with mini reese’s peanut butter cups. I had WANTED to get this one flavor called Fried Ice cream, but an ex of mine had always brought that one over, and that was “our flavor” , and it didn’t feel right. I still think of her whenever I see a squirrel. Her parents work with a squirrel sanctuary, and have many squirrel feeders, so she would (when we were in touch) always send me funny squirrel pics. Anyways- the day I got the ice cream, I did not run once… I ran twice! Each time at high intensity, in random mode, for one hour, followed by crunches. The morning run is on an empty stomach. The evening run, obviously was not.

I had not done crunches / sit-ups in a while, so it was a bit painful. I went until I could go no more. I ddi the same (run twice, abs twice) the next day, and again the next day– which was Andretti’s night. I had left Mysterious Guest a voicemail…. “Hi, I know you haven’t called me back yet, and I know I said I took the hint, but the other week you had said you really wanted to go, so … I’m inviting you anyways…. and I leave town tomorrow morning.” I hadn’t heard back from her that night. I had a great time without a date. Here’s what happened:

I went to dinner with Chris, my realtor. He found me my little slice of paradise, and I was happy about that. I left him with a copy of the lease, as well as the keys to my place. This way, he can get whomever is going to rent my amazing condo the keys. We had dinner, and discussed in depth how the current administration blew up the World Trade Center, and how nothing is being done about it, and what a joke the 9/11 committee was. The future looks dreadful, and President Bush is the antichrist. I paid for his dinner, as a congratulatory thing, since he just got engaged. We went to Andretti’s and I was sort of cold. I went to get my flanel, and Skizzy showed up. We hung by the bar, and that’s when I found I was having a going away party that night…. some people I hadn’t met before had wished me good luck on my journey, because they got Skizzy’s invite. More people showed up. More people bought me those Jager shots. We hung out for a bit, then got some laps at the Go-Kart. Our racing time was set for Midnight. Meanwhile, the video games had all been turned on for free use! I haven’t played games in a while, and this was FUN! We played racing games (Fast and the Furious), and Dance Dance Revolution (or a japanese cousin of it), followed by our new invention, 2-table-air-hockey — which we later got on video! I’ll try to upload that soon. It is an exhausting game where two people play air hockey across 2 tables. You can throw either puck on either table, use 2-paddles to block, throw your paddles, etc…. it was a blast. It was exhausting though! My abs started hurting badly! I wasn’t sure if it was because I had recently began to do a lot of abs, or becuase I had just eaten a lot, and then jumped around a lot! Either way, my stomach hurt! Badly! So I tried to stay optimistic, and hung out some more. A jagerbomb made my stomach feel better.
A few more games (and a lot of DDR - I even started beating people, and improving my score), and it was time to race. This, they would not permit me to videotape., which is too bad, ’cause I kicked everyone’s ass! Skizzy had tried to pay for my race with some free races the owner had given him, but the gal operating the gig said they were no good on Monday nights… so I bought our rounds before anyone else had a chance to say anything. I bought mine, Daniel’s, and Skizzy’s. It was well worth it, we had so much fun! Those go-karts go at least 25MPH. I spent the rest of the night playing games. Derek & Jessica had shown up, and Jessica was not only looking good, but was such a delight to be around! She was highly encouraging if nothing else. She had requested to see me play Dance Dance Revolution, and I can’t remember what else she did… but I remember I broke out into an accapela version of Hakuna Mattata at the bar, and she joined in. No microphone or Kareoke machine or anything… I just sang. I was in such a good mood. Thank god for all the running I had done that week, or all that DDR / games would’ve hurt!

Drinks, racing, dancing, running, shooting, inventing, and spending time with my dear friends / couches…. now that’s a night to remember!

I had told Skiz the truth, that I’m glad I met him, and I’m sure I know him from a past life. It’s really good having someone who’s creative, funny, talented, (reads/comments on one’s blog), informative, open-minded, knows so many hot models, and is equally fearless. It’s just easy to push each other further in life when you’re like-minded like that. Here’s his invite:
