I have to stop not sleeping!

Oh man… it’s currently 4:20am. I woke up about an hour and a half ago… dazed…. I had spent from Friday until this morning on this project that someone threw my way. I had skipped sleep on Sunday night and Monday night. Seems “the new bedtime” is 6pm. Old people can make fun of ME now for going to sleep early, right? Yesterday I napped from 6 to 9 (yeah… you can say that quickly!), and today I slept from 6pm till 2:40am. I was pretty dazed when I awoke, on my balcony, in the dark, with my head still spinning… Arriving home was tough, I kept dosing off in the car, and trying to fight it- through rush-hour traffic in Atlanta. My mysterious visitor had suggested I head there and get some rest in a bed, since I’ve been skipping sleep, and even when I have been sleeping this week, it has been on my balcony floor, in a sleeping bag. Don’t get me wrong, that’s comfy… I got no gripes.. it was her idea. But where was I coming from? I had gone to the nicest mansion I’ve ever been to.
I was supposed to be there for this music video shoot. 3 Bad Brothers were making their next music video, and there were a bunch of models, and a huge bar, and a game room, and an indoor basketball court, and fridges everywhere– one even had YooHoo in it. I was too tired though to get into the shooting thing. I took some shots of the pool, as it was pretty spectacular, and the guy who made the pool had asked me to shoot it for luxurypools.com’s story on it. I tried playing Dance Dance Revolution, but the volume was too low on it to hear the tunes… or all the other games were too loud. I tried playing Pinball - the guy had like 4 Pinball machines. He had everything there. It was a 4-5 million dollar home on the golf course, with about 13,000 square feet. I had fun chatting with people, but I was too tired to get too much done. So… when that girl offred me a bed, I figured I should get my rest. Rewind to the start, and you remember I said I was falling asleep at the wheel. I ended up not going there, as on my way there, she realized she doesn’t really know me all that well, and she has a young child, and may have to be concerned. *shrug* A child’s safety comes 1st, but I’ve been at 40 couches now, many of which have had extremely young children. Since I was on the phone with Couch #4 today, and she was telling me she doesn’t even go on roller coasters anymore, not because of fear, but just in case, so she doesn’t have to leave her children without a mother… if anything were to happen. So… I called Couch 3, and told her to call this girl, and give a referral. Then I got far enough, without knowing where I’m going to, that I turned onto 75, and headed to my place…. to sleep.
I woke up, drank some juice, kept the lights off. Tried to figure out what I want to do… I’m still groggy, and still feeling out of it. I have to stop taking these all-nighter projects. I thought I’d be artistic, and relax, draw, paint, (virtually) sculpt, and hit the jacuzzi. I thought I’d start with the Jacuzzi. I got into it, and it was exhilarating…. the cold night air trying to get at me, as the hot water spewed a defensive cloud of steam. I relaxed to some tunes on my Ipod Nano (thanks Couch 31!), and could’ve stayed in the same position all night… but I didn’t…. not because of all the images I still have to color correct, and not because I have to prepare a lease (got an interested renter to rent my new place from me), but mainly because it had, after about 2-4 minutes, become extremely apparent that tonight was jacuzzi chlorination night! My eyes were burning… my nose and throat were burning…. The whole “I’ll just close my eyes” thing wasn’t working out too well. Once visions of World War II gas-rooms came into my head, I decided it was time to make a speedy retreat. Persistance has it’s good sides, but if you’re persisting EVERY challenge… well.. you’re going to be dead. I still reek of Chlorine right now…. and there’s still so much to do… including telling you about Saturday, or the sweet call I received last night… or maybe post an image of what I did on this project…. but no… I think I’m going to go back to sleep, and live again in the morning.
