I was excited… I’d get to see Lizzy. I’d get to ride horses… I’d get to see the process of how handicapped children learn to ride horses. When I told people that Lizzy teaches handicapped kids to ride horses, people have replied “Do they have ramps?” or (my response) do you tie them to the back of the horse, and spook the horse?” It appears that couch 39 was correct. The horses have ramps, though not attached to them. The kids have a ramp they ride the wheelchairs onto, and the horses walk up, below them, and the kids are then lifted onto the horse. There is a person who walks in front of the horse, to lead it, or calm it if it freaks out. There are usually 2 other individuals, one on each side. I did not get to see any of this, only where it happens. When we got there, we had just missed the kids doing the training. I also did not get to ride, because Lizzy had to be somewhere, and I had to get back to that 3d project. I did get to pet a bunch of horses though, hang with Lizzy for a bit, eat some really good food, and see where the magic happens. I even got to play with a Clydesdale.
