Well… I’m writing this day in here 2 days after it happened, so I’ll keep it brief. Remember how Monday, before my home closing I went and took a quick stroll in “my back yard” ? Well… this time I went jogging there… I was planning on going for 1 hour, my standard cardio duration. I was feeling a bit lazy, having had my 1st guest keep me up late, so I figured I”d probably be back by 45 minutes. *chuckle* Try 2 hours, with intense off-road action
. I had gotten lost in the woods! my back yard is that huge. It’s a bunch of trails for the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area. In fact…. when I thought I was heading home, I ended up being spit out in a park at the end of the main street. The trail had a few small creeks, and a pond that took my breath away. The pond seemed like chump change though when compared to the scenic area of the Chattahoochee that I emerged next to. I had to stop, and just gaze. Remember- I like my nature! The trail was sweet though… lots of uphill/downhill action, with lots of rocks / logs for mountain bikers (which I ran across a few). I felt pretty crispy after that, from all the exercise and sun. A little while later it started pouring, so I took a nap on my balcony! It was amazing… nothing but the sound of rain going through the leaves. My balcony has a screened in area, that’s carpeted with a nice Burbur carpet. Oh, so comfy!
I made an appearance at Wally’s party, since Cookie had asked me a few times. I had fun there, but couldn’t get too drunk, or stay too late, because I had to leave to go get Mom from the airport by 8:30am. I hung out with Tom, who had lots of adrenaline-filled stories for me…. apparently, he rafts, skydives, etc… I love meeting fellow crazies. There was definitely a distinct awkwardness between Vesna and I for the other night when she told me to come over, and wasn’t there. Cari had made sure to point out that it was definitely not her on Vesna’s phone. Vesna couldn’t remember much… in fact, she said she didn’t get back home until like 5:30am… so much for her story from the other night about having gotten there 15 minutes after I left! Oh well… drunk people. I’m definitely getting bored with drinking.
I was bummed, ’cause Lizzy couldn’t make it over that night after all. She said they had asked her to come in early that day and the next… and she even had her S’mores maker in the car and everything. We confirmed our plans for the next day, to hang out at the Red Light Cafe, and… added plans– I’m going horse-back riding with her on Saturday! She teaches handicapped children to ride horses. The way I asked it was “Do you tie the wheelchair to the back, and spook the horse?” couch 39 had asked me if the horses had ramps, and then someone asked me “Do the horses have sidecars?” — now… we’re not trying to be mean… we just don’t know how it is done. So, I am going to go and take some photos… and ride, of course. I haven’t ridden a horse since Couch 0 in October… that was a blast… the saddle was a bit loose, and I ended up holding on for dear life … the horse thought it was funny to not listen to my “Ho!” (that’s what you tell him to stop). He finally stopped when I threatened to send him to a glue factory
I actually have video of this somewhere… let’s see if I can dig it up and post it.
That night it was pretty chilly outside, so I went to sleep on the balcony again… what a treat. I woke up to the sound of birds singing for me.
