Day 6- U-turn to Miami….

We got up early enough to do a photoshoot. On the trampoline for starters, then in Lingerie, and implied nudes. Cari did not want to look like a cliche model, and wanted to keep things edgy. I am happy to oblige, as I like my stuff to look different. We shot in different rooms, different outfits, and had fun with it. It’s amazing how I go into work mode, and concentrate on the shots- as she has very lovely breasts, and I did not spend any time staring at them. When I shoot, I’m focused on getting the best image… what I’m actually looking at is secondary. When the angles looked too generic and model-like, we tried for other angles. I ended up climbing the gazebo, and shooting downwards. We have video of this, as she was covering her boobs with my camcorder (it’s a small camcorder). I then decided to try an even more unique angle, and hung upside-down by my feet! Talk about a literal interpretation to the usual line I say “If I fall, catch the camera). Not that I had any falling-issues… but it was fun to say that, as I’m really upside down and in the air. Best of all, that angle, and the distance it got me to Cari, got the image I wanted!

I packed in a hurry- and forgot my Shampoo there. I tried to leave- but my car was dead. Cari jumped me… er.. jump-started my car, and I left in a hurry. I was already running late, and called Mr. Viscuso to tell him so. I had to stop for gas, and then drove on down to South Florida again. Mr. Viscuso has a very nice home in Bal-Harbor. It is on the bay, and has its own beach. It looks pretty Mediterranean. He made me a Pasta Carbonara, which I videotaped. We then chatted about his website. It turns out that he in fact wanted me to not update the text, but rather give him a complete new website with Flash animations, shopping cart, movie trailers, and much more. I do not have that kind of time. He wanted me to encode some trailers from DVD’s, but they were PAL. He wanted everything for exposure.. i.e. free. I do not have that kind of time these days- especially for free work! I set him up with Pawel from Poland. That guy can design, and WOULD want the exposure. I would not have any benefit from having exposure as the guy who designed the website. It would actually be counter-productive. Pawel and his team of designers can create great websites, at amazing prices. I’ve recommended him to many people!

We went to a “pool party” in a ritzy part of town. I enjoyed the food, but did not see a pool, nor meet anyone that I felt a bond with. I snuck off and made a phone call to one of my personal idols, Jeffrey Scott, and had a wonderful conversation. He confirmed that I have a couch available over there, and can interview him. I had purchased his 1st book, and was asking him all sorts of questions about what it’s like being published. It’s so amazing that all you have to do is talk to people you look up to, and usually they’re pretty damn cool - not stuck up as one might expect. I should have stayed back and worked, instead of gone to this pool party. What made it even more frustrating is that the drive back took forever! All these different roads he tried to take were closed for some reason! I killed the time by making calls to friends, and catching up. One amazing thing about my trip is that I get to drive a lot… and I get bored easily… so I make a lot of phone calls, and even catch up to people I haven’t spoken to in a very long time!

I captured video that night, and worked on some images. The thing that sucks is that my camcorder batteries no longer worked properly after that night! What a bummer! I had made a lot of calls that night to pass the time. I spoke to my friend Larry X about his book “The Cluttered Mind” - Check out his site… he has some cool views, and is not afraid to be political.
