Day 21 - Grooming the mountain (slideshow)

Yeah… it’s Day 55 as I write this… but I just got to editing and JPG’ing the photos tonight… ’cause Derek wrote and asked for them.
So… day 21… a Sunday like any other Sunday… except that I’m in Utah, and it’s freezing cold (really… we went snowboarding the next day). The day
started out […]

The internet gods have been kind of mean ….

SITE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION….
I don’t want to leave the “about page” up the whole time, but I made my own site, AM making my own site… so… now that I’m at Couch 13 - I’m putting the site together. Please bear with me, as the site will be changing A LOT!
I am starting by […]

Day 17- 1,000 mile drive! From Kansas to Utah.

I interviewed Mike in the morning. He was pretty tired still, and I even got a funny photo of him stumbling out of the bathroom in his boxers. I love candid shots when people are NOT expecting them in the least. Mike had printed up some directions for me on how to […]

Day 16- Bowling… and … ICE DRIFTING!

We went bowling. Then a little bit of street ice-drifting with Chris driving. I was pretty bad at bowling. It was fun though. I got yelled at for throwing the ball too much. That’s how I play though!
Derek took me out for a Sonic Vanilla-Lime-Cherry Coke. I then worked […]

Day 15- Not even a crash can keep me from making it to a friend’s b-day.

Day 15 (the beauty of starting on January 1). I woke up… it was freezing cold… literally! I mean…I did crash the day before because of ice! So, I get up, I watch the news… more than 104 accidents since midnight.I guess that means there were a lot of Floridians in Texas.

Day 14- More glamour workshop… and a nasty car accident!

Rick Hughs throws a nice workshop. I like interacting with people… so for me, it was quite enjoyable. I started the day by interviewing Rick & Frank at the hotel. They were pretty funny. I am very happy that despite being really talented, Rick is really down to Earth. I […]

Day 13- Glamour Workshop - day 1

Started the day trying to go to CVS to buy blank CD’s to fix Phil’s internet. No luck- CVS was closed till 8am. Hung out w/ Phil drinking coffee and talking about old stories. Rick called in the morning, and gave me the address for the workshop. I drove there, and could […]

Day 12- A long drive from Georgia to Texas.

Melissa’s comforter was so comfortable! I could sleep on it all day long. She gave me 2 bananas and sent me on my way. I was pretty bummed ’cause I was hoping to spend some time with her- do a photo shoot and interview. Since I did not know where I’m […]

Day 11- Abandoned barn, more experimental exposure.

I got a tiny bit of sleep… my fault for staying up late, but when you got momentum, it is wise to use it!
After the kids departed for their respective schools, Lisa and I drove around to this Lake. I forgot the name - will get it from Lisa - but it’s the largest […]

Day 10- Made it to ATL… shot kids… watched cartoons.

I got here at 5:30am! It’s 30 degrees, and the doors are locked! Thankfully, it’s warm in the car, and I even have some reception on the internet (though it’s pretty flaky and keeps dropping me). I’m tired, but I think journaling is more important right now. I needed to catch up […]

Day 9- That’s it! I’m leaving Florida!

Tampa really came and went… I slept in a little bit at Couch #5(Jonathan)’s. I finished off the 5 hot-wings from last night, for breakfast. Washed that down with a coke. Image editing went well– finished the couch #2 pics in Adobe Lightroom. I’m fairly pleased with the control that […]

Day 8- Tampa, and the birth of the Couch Surfing Ori folk song…

We started the day off realllllly early. I was so tired. It was that early, so that we could make it to the Firestation to shoot Delilah’s kids. They’re very small and cute. 4 & 5 years old. We shot at the Fire House, and then had breakfast with Sean […]

Day 7 - Heading back up north…

Mr. Viscuso took his sweet ol’ time making breakfast, then getting ready. I can’t complain though because breakfast was quite yummy. I just wanted to do the interview, and get out of South Florida (again) all ready! I interviewed him, and it went fairly well. He kept being interrupted by the […]

Day 6- U-turn to Miami….

We got up early enough to do a photoshoot. On the trampoline for starters, then in Lingerie, and implied nudes. Cari did not want to look like a cliche model, and wanted to keep things edgy. I am happy to oblige, as I like my stuff to look different. We shot […]

Day 5- Mostly hanging out @ Couch 2’s

Just wanted to sleep all day. That didn’t really happen. Hung out with Cari, but mostly worked. Went over the (620) images from the night before. I took some photos of her cat, and a few of the items I shot in the nighttime (Garbage cans)
Made a bunch of calls, worked on […]

Day 4- Have you ever hit your face with your knee? Trampoline lessons :)

I met Cari for lunch at the MacGreggor Cafe. The parking lot was totally full. By funny coincidence, I parked right behind her (without knowing it). There was a long wait, so we had a great chat. I was so amused, because she kept mentioning “MotherFucker” - a new year’s event […]

Don’t work on your CF cards! Copy the files to the harddrive! (OOPS)

I had done a shoot in November. It was stunning…. a photoshoot of a beautiful woman performing Yoga at Sunrise. Because I had done my color correcting and made jpg’s on the CF card (due to lack of harddrive space), and had renamed the directory from DCIM to “Vanessa-Yoga-shoot-11-28-2006″, the camera could not […]

Day 3- Mostly hanging out.

YAY!!!!! I FINALLY GOT TO PLAY WITH MY BRAND NEW Canon 180mm F3.5 with Macro lens!!! Oh my god, it is sooooooooo damn cool! Well, on its own, it’s just cool… a good lens indeed… but………. It is AWESOME because it has a large enough base to where I can use it […]

Day 2- Hanging with Staci (has pics and video!)

Staci rocks! She’s fun, funny, cute, hard-working, and just a nice person all around. She’s a great hostess — and a lovely cook.
We started the day off with a photoshoot. We started with a fitness shoot, as I saw a large punching bag in her Florida room. I figured it would […]

Day 1 - Let’s meet our 1st Couch!

Argggh! Red Bull & Vodka…. they made me sleep past my alarm clock! No, I didn’t sleep in by most people’s terms… but the fact is that I wanted to get on the road pretty early, and 7:30am IS still 2 hours past 5:30am. Oh well- I did need the rest! […]

Get good hosting!

I got sick of losing sleep due to GoDaddy's glitches, and crappy billing... I moved to BlueHost, and am happy! Awesome service, unlimited account hosting, and I'd love to see you use up all the bandwidth they give you for $6.50/month!
